For UserJS.org site visitors

Information collected: Log files

When you visit UserJS.org, the following information will be stored in the web server’s access log:

  • Your IP address.
  • The time you visited.
  • The page you visited.
  • The status code your visit returned.

Also, if provided by your browser, the following will be logged:

  • The URL of the page you used to reach the page requested (Referrer information).
  • The browser identifcation string.

The information collected in this access log is kept private, and is not shared with third parties. The only circumstance under which the log data may be shared with anyone is when ordered to by a court of law.

UserJS.org may from time to time publish results of log analysis performed on the UserJS.org access logs. This information is fully anonymized and is not traceable back to the individual user. Examples may be visitor counts, browser breakdown and aggregated geographical information.

Cookies

This site does not use cookies or invisible tracking images to trace your visit. Neither are any third-party tracking systems in use.

Your e-mail address

If you choose to communicate with UserJS.org by e-mail, or you leave your e-mail on any part of the site permitting user input, your e-mail address will be kept private, and will not be shared with a third party unless required to by a Norwegian court of law.

For script users

UserJS.org are deeply committed to the privacy and safety of User JavaScript users. Prior to publication, every script on UserJS.org has been read and analyzed. UserJS.org will not host or publish scripts that:

  • compromises system security
  • facilitates theft of personally identifiable information such as names, e-mail addresses or credit card numbers
  • facilitates any malicious activity such as denial-of-service attacks
  • spies on user activity with the intent of gathering usage information
  • hijacks affiliate information or facilitates click-fraud schemes.

Please be aware that some scripts hosted on UserJS.org may communicate with third-party services, either fully automated, or initiated by user actions. If scripts hosted on UserJS.org communicate with third parties, they will be clearly marked: Both the fact that the script communicates with a third party, and exactly what information it sends to the third party, which site it sends information to, and when it sends it. Further, a link to the relevant privacy policy will also be present.

Before installing any script that communicates with third party services, you are strongly advised to read the privacy policy of the third party site(s) in question.

For script creators

Your e-mail address

When you submit a script to UserJS.org, you are required to provide a valid, working e-mail address. Unless you explicitly and without encouragement from UserJS.org grant us permission to republish this e-mail address as part of your script, this address will be kept private, and will not be shared with a third party, unless required to by a Norwegian court of law.

URL

When submitting a script for inclusion, script authors may provide UserJS.org with a URL that they want associated with the script. Providing this URL is optional, and is not required for inclusion of a script. Further, UserJS.org reserves the right not to link to this URL for any reason. Examples of sites UserJS.org will not link to are:

  • Sites that may get UserJS.org banned from search engines. This includes, but is not limited to linkfarms, spam or click fraud sites.
  • Sites that may get UserJS.org banned by Internet Content filters for not being family-friendly. This includes, but is not limited to pornographic sites, sites promoting weapons, drugs or violence.
